Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum’s long-awaited Smallville sequel series encounters another obstacle, but there’s still a chance the beloved DC TV series will become a reality. Smallville officially ended in May 2011, though it received a spiritual successor in the name of a limited comic book series titled “Smallville season 11,” and Tom Welling reprised his Clark Kent role alongside Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois Lane in the Arrowverse’s Crisis on Infinite Earths. Tyler Hoechlin, who succeeded Tom Welling as Superman on the small screen, ended his run as the Man of Steel with Superman & Lois‘ finale in December 2024.
