Adria Arjona vs Jessica Green: James Gunn Will Have a Hard Time Replacing Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman

In the DC Universe, one of the most fan-beloved characters of all time, especially among the superheroes, is none other than Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman. For years, the iconic character has amused fans worldwide, and previously, Gal Gadot ensured fans felt the same way about her. But now the times have changed, and James Gunn holds the reigns to the DCU.

That said, now that Gadot has ostensibly left the mantle behind for other younger actresses to take on the role, Gunn has a really hard decision waiting ahead for him. This is because the current debate is raging between actresses Adria Arjona and Jessica Green with respect to the potential candidate to replace Gadot, and choosing one might not be the easiest task for the co-CEO.

James Gunn has two amazing choices to replace Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman

While it has been quite a while since James Gunn took over DC Studios as its co-CEO alongside Peter Safran, the creative visionary is yet to cast some really epic characters from the superverse. This includes Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, who was previously played by Gal Gadot after being cast by Zack Snyder in his version of the DCEU.

But now that Gunn is kickstarting his own revamped version of the universe, he needs to cast a new actress in the role. And currently, of all the names being thrown around in the mix for the same, actresses Adria Arjona and Jessica Green inevitably seem to be the top contenders. The best part? Both of the stunners have expressed their interest in the role as well.

Arjona, the 32-year-old actress, is famed for her performances in Hit Man (2023) and Andor (2022-). On the other hand, Green, also 32, is famous for the brilliant acting chops she put on display in pieces like The Outpost (2018-2021) and Air (2023). Both actresses, unarguably, are good enough to serve as replacements for Gadot to play the new Diana Prince.

Additionally, as @EverythingDCU_ recently shared, the Hit Man actress didn’t hesitate to let her interest be known when a fan recently asked her if she was going to play the respective superheroine next. In response, she first gave a wide-eyed shrug before going on to say (originally in Spanish), “Start writing to him [i.e., James Gunn], help me,” while pointing to her phone.

On the other hand, as a fan (@Gabriel53924149) pointed out in the comment section, Green also expressed her interest in the role when asked through one of the comments on her post, “DCEU’s next Wonder Woman?” Replying to the comment, she said, “I wish!”, which was followed by a slew of fan comments pointing out how good she would be in the role, if cast.

Fans are debating between Adria Arjona and Jessica Green for Wonder Woman

While both actresses themselves unhesitatingly admit that they are interested in being the next iteration of the respective fan-favorite DCU Amazonian superheroine is one thing, fans are currently busy having a debate over the same as they try to figure out which one of the two 32-year-old actresses would be a better choice for the part.

Expressing their respective support for each of them, here’s what fans have to say about the same on X:

With all of these fan opinions put out there, it can’t be denied that Gunn does, in fact, have a rather tough decision resting ahead of him with respect to the casting of Diana Prince in his revamped version of the DCU. Not to mention, both Arjona and Green seem to have the perfect features and physique for the role, so casting either sounds like the perfect replacement for Gadot.
