The building, formerly the Athenaeum Theatre on Buchanan Street, is now on sale after the shutters were pulled down last year.

A new occupier is sought for the “stunning renaissance-inspired property“.

Rent for the building is £526,546.19 per annum, exclusive of other occupational costs.

A description from marketers Four & Co reads: “The restaurant premises, formerly the Athenaeum theatre, comprise the entire building; from basement to 4th floor.

“Internally, the accommodation benefits from double height ceilings and it retains many of its original features.

“The unit is fitted as a high end restaurant and has a full kitchen with extract in place. There is an existing liquor licence for on premises sales until midnight, and outdoor sales until 10pm.

“This stunning renaissance-inspired property is located in a 100% prime location on the west side of Buchanan Street towards its northern end. This parade is south of Buchanan Galleries SC; opposite Queen Street Station.

“The premises are situated directly adjacent to Glasgow’s flagship H&M. Other nearby retailers include John Lewis, Urban Outfitters, Fat Face, Vans, Watches of Switzerland, a new flagship JD Sports and Apple.

“Nearby F&B occupiers include The Ivy, Chaophraya, Starbucks, Amarone, Waxy O’Connor’s, Miller & Carter, The Citizen, The Anchor Line, Café Andaluz, Mowgli, Bread Meats Bread, Wagamama and TGI Fridays.”

The Hard Rock Cafe, which often hosted live music sets, featured around 170 seats inside with a huge bar in the centre.

Hard Rock International was first launched in London in 1971 and now boasts venues in over 74 countries.

It is famed for its incredible amount of relics that previously belonged to some of the biggest rock stars in the world.

The memorabilia is displayed on the walls for visitors to admire while enjoying their visits.
