“Welcome back, pilot”: Legendary Feature Can Bring Titanfall 2 to Helldivers 2

Arrowhead Game Studios’ 2015 game, Helldivers, was a shoot ’em up game with a top-down perspective; however, with the sequel, the studio decided to completely ditch that idea. Helldivers 2 is entirely in the third person, except when players aim down their weapons.

That short duration where players are able to play the game in first person reminds everyone how great the game could’ve been if it were entirely in first person.

A player suggested that Arrowhead should start this experience by implementing a first-person view for the mechs. Using an Exosuit in Helldivers 2 is a chaotic experience, and with a first-person perspective, it will remind many of the Titanfall franchise. This would undoubtedly elevate the gaming experience and help Arrowhead understand players’ responses to the first-person perspective.

Helldivers 2 players want a first-person view for Mechs

A gamer on the r/Helldivers subreddit has suggested that Helldivers 2 should have a first-person perspective for the EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit and the EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit. The feel of sitting inside a mechanical suit, killing bots, bugs, and squids, would probably be unmatched and will definitely make things far more exciting.

Many pointed out that this would replicate the Titalfall franchise experience, which might not be a bad idea for a crossover. There are rumors that Arrowhead has been working on new crossovers, but imagine a crossover with the Titanfall franchise, giving players some brand new mechs, preferably with replaceable arms.

Many have pointed out that the Stratagem Launcher is a much-needed addition for Mechs because hopping out of the machines to call in Stratagems in the middle of the battlefield can be quite challenging.

Helldivers 2 has made a strong comeback

In mid-2024, there was a significant drop in Helldivers 2‘s popularity, but Arrowhead managed to turn things around by coming up with a brand new strategy. The studios’ decision to listen to the fans was worth it, as the game has now made a strong comeback, especially after the Omens of Tyranny update.

But the question is: Will the game be able to keep the players hooked? It’s easy to create a one-hit wonder, and if the studio wishes to maintain a steady, active player count, it must add some fresh content. Not just new content, but game balancing is also something quite crucial, but it is to be noted that Arrowhead’s CCO believes that it takes away the fun. It has been confirmed that the studio is working on new enemies, weapons, Stratagems, and missions, so as of now, Helldivers 2‘s future is looking bright.
