Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on TV in the US, Ed said: “I want to make an album for all of my life that comes out the day I die called Eject.
“I am not joking.
“Imagine when Paul McCartney passes there’s a record with a song he made at 16, a song at 20, at 30. Fascinating.”
Ed joked: “People will be like, ‘Still beyond the grave he f***s with us.’”
Ed also opened up about his new single Azizam and said he’d been so inspired by his Iranian producer Ilya that he’d recorded the whole song in his language too.
“We’ve actually done a full version in Farsi,” said Ed.
“I feel like the Persian community has embraced the song.
“I am honoured.”
Gene’s tour date

Gene Gallagher and model Nevey Maya spotted hand in hand during a day out in London[/caption]
GENE GALLAGHER has got his plus one sorted for the Oasis tour.
The musician son of motormouth rocker Liam and model Nevey Maya were spotted hand in hand during a day out in London.
Gene went public with Nevey at the Brit Awards afterparty at 180 Studios, and I saw the pair together on the dancefloor alongside Nicole Appleton, the young Gallagher’s famous mum.
A pal said: “Gene is mad for Nevey and they make a lovely couple.
“She has been with him for a year now but they’ve kept their relationship out of the limelight.
“Nevey is going to be a firm fixture on the Oasis tour with Gene. She loves the rock ’n’ roll lifestyle.”
Don’t we all.
Worried I Mae offend people

Singer-songwriter Mae Stephens says cancel culture affects hit tunes[/caption]
CANCEL culture has ruined plenty of things – and it even affects hit tunes, according to singer-songwriter Mae Stephens, because artists are terrified of their lyrics being picked over.
The British star, who went viral with her 2023 song If We Ever Broke Up, is back today with a female empowerment anthem called Woah, Man!.
But she admitted she was “treading on thin ice” after Katy Perry was mocked for 2024 track Woman’s World, which was criticised for simplifying issues women face.
In an exclusive chat, Mae said: “Cancel culture nowadays is just one of those bow and arrows that can catch you at any point.
“Katy targeted as much as she could within the barriers of not offending people. But it was the same with Woah, Man!.
“It’s sort of treading on thin ice to create a song that’s going to be universally empowering for women but also that’s not going to jab at the harsher subjects of inequality.”
She continued: “I’ve watched so many artists get criticised on, like, five lines that they’ve said or even just one line like Chappell Roan and Lola Young and it does make me scared.
“I do find myself double and triple-checking songs or even getting my dad or my partner to just go over it.”
It’s a sad state of affairs when you can’t even write a fun pop song without being accused of offending someone.
Duran’s smell of success

Duran Duran have launched two new unisex perfumes[/caption]
EIGHTIES legends Duran Duran proved they still know how to put on a party with the launch of their two new unisex perfumes.
Our Something For The Weekend colleague Jacqui Swift was invited to a secret central London location to unveil NeoRio and Black Moonlight with luxury Italian perfume house, Xerjoff.
Small groups were taken through the recreated Rum Runner Club, the Birmingham venue where the band rehearsed in their early days.
Simon Le Bon was in one room writing lyrics, John Taylor played bass on a bed, Nick Rhodes snapped Polaroids and drummer Roger Taylor was DJing.
It was a heady throwback to the decadence and drama of the Eighties – only this time, you left reeking of luxury rather than cheap booze and fags.

MARK RONSON has written a memoir about his time as a DJ in New York in the Nineties – but it was so hedonistic, I’m surprised he could remember enough to write the book.
Speaking about Night People, out later this year, he said: “This book is my love letter to a vanished era that shaped not just my career but my identity – a time when finding my craft put me on the path to finding myself.”
