While it stays true that Netease Games has a potentially endless list of characters it can add to Marvel Rivals, there are actually only a few dozen faces out of them that players want to see getting added before anybody else, and that includes Tony Stark’s most brilliant, yet his most regretful, invention, Ultron.
Weirdly enough, the studio may have just spoiled the big reveal of when Ultron will be added to the roster of heroes in the game, all thanks to a merch drop that was possibly listed earlier than it was supposed to.
Marvel Rivals and the Ultron leak: Is it happening for real?
As much as the studio tries to avoid it, character leaks for Marvel Rivals are one of the most tossed-around things on the internet, and the most recent one was a dead giveaway to who players can expect next. This latest merchandising misstep suggests that Ultron, who has proven to be a menace in the MCU, might be dropping into the game sooner than expected.
How do we know about it? Well, not only us, but gamers all around have stumbled on this Hot Topic listing featuring a T-shirt with Ultron’s promotional design in Marvel Rivals. The other merch for the game on the website only features characters that have already made their way in, pointing towards the possible addition of Tony Stark’s biggest regret being added to the game soon.
What’s more surprising is how, despite pulling all the attention towards itself, the listing manages to stay active and is yet to be taken down by the studio, making fans wonder if it was more of a psy-op strategy to create hype around new characters in the game.
Why Ultron will be the best and the worst new addition to Marvel Rivals
While Marvel Rivals in its current stage has its own fair share of iconic villains, including Magneto, it still lacks fan favorites, whether that be Ultron or the big bad purple guy that goes by the name of Thanos.
If this leak turns out to be legitimate, Ultron’s inclusion in Marvel Rivals would make perfect sense. The game thrives on combat that causes chaos all around, which nobody would know better about than this sentient AI hell-bent on destroying humanity.
Unfortunately, due to being too similar to Iron Man himself, it would be difficult for the creators to come up with an ability set that will be wholly unique to Ultron himself. This does not mean that Netease Games should just give up but should rather act with simple motivation to bring the new character in the best way possible.
