A Mad Man Was Stalking Gene Hackman and His Wife Before Their Death, Did He Murder the 2 Times Oscar Winner?

Veteran actor Gene Hackman sadly passed away in February of this year. The Oscar-winning actor was found dead along with his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and their dog Zinna. Hackman reportedly died due to heart disease and was also said to be suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Arakawa reportedly died earlier due to hantavirus.

While the deaths have been ruled to be of natural causes, new information has been uncovered from a hairstylist of Arakawa. Hackman’s wife reportedly revealed to the hairstylist that the couple was being stalked by a crazed fan who had followed them and approached the Superman actor twice.

The world woke up to the tragic news of Gene Hackman’s death on February 18. The actor was known for his incredible performances in films like The French Connection, Unforgiven, The Royal Tenenbaums, and Superman, among others. He had won the Oscar twice and has been nominated numerous times. He had retired from acting in 2004.

Hackman was found dead along with his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and their family dog Zinna in their home. While police initially found the multiple deaths suspicious, there was reportedly no sign of forced entry or struggle, and it was deemed to be of natural causes. However, Arakawa’s hairstylist revealed a horrific incident that the couple faced before their death.

According to Radar Online, Christopher, Arakawa’s hairstylist, revealed that she had told him about a stalker who had been following the couple two months before their deaths. He said,

She mentioned to me that there was a man who had parked outside their gate and followed them. On two separate occasions. One occasion is when they went to White Rock. They went and had lunch there, and the guy followed them from the parking lot (outside of their gated community), followed them all the way to White Rock.

The fan reportedly had a folder full of photos for Gene Hackman to sign. Arakawa reportedly approached the man and told him he was being disrespectful. He reportedly followed them again another day and hoped to gift them a bottle of wine.

While the presence of a stalker definitely causes some alarm, the police have determined that the cause of death for both Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, was natural. Hackman reportedly died of heart disease as his pacemaker showed no sign of activity on February 18. Arakawa was initially determined to have passed a week earlier.

However, this was refuted by a doctor in Santa Fe, who claimed that Arakawa had called the hospital where he worked a day after the determined date of death. Dr. Josiah Child reportedly told The Guardian,

She’d called me a couple of weeks before her death to ask about getting an echocardiogram [heart scan] for her husband. She was not a patient of mine, but one of my patients recommended Cloudberry to her. She made an appointment for herself for 12 February. It was for something unrelated to anything respiratory.

Dr. Child also mentioned that Arakawa did not mention a respiratory disease. Officials determined her cause of death to be due to hantavirus, which affects the respiratory system.
