Meanwhile, hope flickers as U.S. and Ukrainian delegates met Sunday in Saudi Arabia for peace talks, deemed “positive” by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Focus centered on ceasefire protecting key infrastructure, and forging fair peace.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stressed that halting attacks hinges on Russian President Vladimir Putin ordering a stop. “Final decisions need his command,” Umerov noted.
Zelensky echoed optimism, saying Ukraine’s team pushed constructive ideas during discussions with U.S. counterparts. He also mourned families of those killed in Kyiv drone strikes.
