With the DCEU ending in 2023, James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU is now laying its foundations. This shared universe is described as a “broad but not blanket reset,” and its first television series, Creature Commandos, debuted in December 2024. However, both Gunn and Safran stated that they see the upcoming Superman film, previously titled Superman: Legacy, as the true beginning of the DCU.
